[Mob Leader Dialogue]

(Mob leader shot him in the head)

Riley: Woah
Allister’s gang members: Boss?!

Proposal:
For this soundtrack I had recorded it with Noah and JJ; I had chosen this scene from Boondocks because it was one of the funniest scenes that I have watched on the show and personally, I knew I could use it to make parody. However, this scene had a lot of swearing in it; I had chosen to replace some of the swearing, e.g., I replaced 'fuck' with 'screw', however for some (if not a majority) of I had bleeped some of the audio. I had to record this scene two times, this is because the first recording was good, however, Noah had laughed when saying some of the lines. So, I had to get Noah to re-record his lines. In the background of the video, I had used an old song from Beanie Seagel, this had suited the tone of the scene as it was a parody of an old gangsta film. I had also added some sound effects to suit the scene, like a door slamming and a car parking; to make the scene as realistic as possible.

Friday Redubbed Script & Proposal

Deebo owes some money
Smokey (To Craig): Aye bro, you need to know what happened to Red
Craig (interested): What happened?
Smokey (starting to tell the story): You know how Deebo owed Red weed, right?
Craig (still interested): Right
Smokey (still in the story): So it was me, Deebo (fading into the story)
(In the story)
Smokey: You niggas broke(!), gimme my money
Deebo: What money?
Smokey: What money...
(Red arriving on the scene)
Red (shouting): Aye Deebo!
Deebo (to his friend): Hold this
(Passing his money to his friend)
Red: Come here
(Deebo walked up slowly to Red)
Red: Where's my money? I've been waiting for weeks, you're taking too long man
Deebo: What money?
Red: Don't act dumb, the money you owe me
Deebo: Oh you're money, sorry for the wait
Red: Good that you have the money, cause I was starting to get impatient
(Deebo uppercuts him)
Deebo: That's my money, prick!
(Smokey getting up)
Smokey: Oh shit!
(Running up to Red)
Smokey: You got knocked the fuck out!
(Red's bro getting out the car)
Red's bro (under his breath): Fucking, prick, I'll handle him
Deebo (angered): What you want some too?
Red's bro: Fuck no...
(Tapping Red)
Red's bro: Get up bro, come we cut
(Back to Smokey and Craig)
(They were laughing)
Smokey: After that they cut fam

Proposal
It took me about 3 takes to do the voices of the scenes. The audio came out just fine, however, we had to do retakes because of us either messing up the lines or just laughing; we was laughing at either us making jokes or laughing at each other messing up. The main purpose of this coursework was to use the exact same lines but dubbed with our audio; however, I chose to change it up, I made the script very similar, but I changed it to make it have a more 'British' theme. I personally like the changes that I had made for this scene, because it made more funny and I personally think this made it better for me to use.

The scene was just under two minutes long, this made it good for the dubbing. When coming across this scene, there was a lot of pauses within the dialogue; there was a lot of background sound within the scene, so when editing it, I had to put ambience sound within it, the ambience sound contained street sounds and people talking in the background. Also when Red gets uppercut by Deebo, I added a punching sound effect and it made it have a more comedic sound effect.

However, in some parts of the scene, there were the characters talking, however, there were parts of the scene where the characters were talking but there wasn't that much dialogue. This is because the audio was a bit too fast for the scene.

Voiceover Analysis

Pulp Fiction Ghetto Voiceover

In this, I did Vincent Vega's death scene from Pulp Fiction. In the start of the scene we had saw Bruce Willis' character go into his house and then saw Vincent in his bathroom and then guns him down, and then leaves his house. In this scene I had a friend do a voiceover of him, doing his thoughts; we made in a comedic thing and did kind of a ghetto theme to it (something like ghetto thoughts). I got my friend Noah, to talk into it and put his take on Bruce Willis' characters thoughts. This can be looked at like a parody, and it shows as well due to it taking the 'piss' out of the situation that is happening at hand. We did a checkover again and Noah did a second take, the second time around it came out just right and it I decided to export it to the file.

Music Evaluation

Straight Outta Compton - Music Analysis

I did a scene the movie 'Straight Outta Compton'; in this scene it shows some teenagers on a school bus getting rude to some Bloods. The bus was stopped by them and the blood members were talking to them about messing with gang members. I played some keys that suited the scene, I experimented with other things before but I came to the conclusion to chose the final product. To be fair, I didn't like the music that I had played, mainly because I am not good at playing the piano; and also I felt like it didn't suit the scene that was showing. This, in comparison to the one that I had also done, I felt like my previous work was better as it had suited the scene a lot better. In the Pulp Fiction scene, it played Dr Dre's, 'Let Me Ride'; this suited the scene due to it being set in the 90's making it have the same tone as the background of the scene. In the other one, it was of Tupac Shakur and Snoop Dogg having an interview, I had added one of Tupac's first biggest hit singles (I Get Around); which was had also suited the vibe of the interview. This is due to it playing one of his hit songs to one of his last interviews before he had died. In the Straight Outta Compton scene, I felt that the music didn't suit the scene that I was showing at hand.

Menace II Society Sound Effect - Evaluation

Menace II Society Sound Effect - Evaluation
I made this in a double lesson, I used the opening scene from 'Menace II Society'; in this scene it showed the two main characters (Caine and O'Dog) walking into a 'convenient' store. They felt like the owners were 'stereotyping' them (by being suspicious of their actions, due to them being black), everything was going fine but the shopkeeper then said something that disrespected O'Dog. O'Dog then shot the shopkeeper 3 times and then killed his wife. In this scene, I had added sound effects of gun shots when O'Dog was shooting the shopkeeper and when he had shot his wife. I had also added sound effects of bottles clinging together, when they were taking out their beer and also when the screen had turned to face the shopkeeper, there was a sound of a car horn, so I had personally added it to the scene.Towards the end, I had added the sound of police sirens to make them exiting the building seem more dramatic. I think that I could've improved on the timing of the sound effects in the scene. Also I could've made it more effective by making the sound effects a bit louder (with the exception of the gun sound effect). Also the three minutes long, and besides the sound effects that I had added there weren't that much sound effects within the scene. I also had to space some of the sounds as well and due to this scene being 3 minutes long, this made it spacious and it was extremely long.

Background Music Analysis

Music Evaluation:

In this scene, it shows Jules and Vincent drive with Marcus in the backseat. This scene didn't have any background sound within but it has just the sound of the car moving in the background. I decided to use 'Dr. Dre - Let Me Ride'. I used this music in the background because the film in set in California and the movie was made in the 90s. In this scene the music is shown to be non-diegetic due to it being added in the background of the scene; also when the Marcus gets shot in the face the music cut and then plays again when they start speaking again. This is good due it having an effect of the shooting, but as soon as they started speaking the music came back on.

I took an interview from MTV that had recorded Tupac Shakur and Snoop Dogg, from 1996; they were talking about their recent album releases and were talking about their rivalry with Bad Boy Entertainment. This interview was made only a few months before Tupac Shakur had died and I decided to add one of his biggest hit singles, 'I Get Around'. I play it in the background of the video, which makes it sound like a parting message to the 'late' rapper.

Weed Legalising Interview and Analysis

Terrel: With weed recently being legalised in LA, do you think it should be legalised in the UK?
JJ: Yes I do
Terrel: What's your reasons for this?
JJ: Because it has a lot of medical attributes
Terrel: What do you say to the people who say legalising weed would cause crime?
JJ: i believe if weed is legal there would be less crime because its coming from the government
Terrel: How would the legalisation of weed affect you personally?
JJ: it will allow me to be able to try weed recreationally and medically without being illegal

Noah: Hell yeah
Terrel: What's your reasons for this?
Noah: It's really relaxing. It's a flavour enhancer and it solves all your problems
Terrel: What do you say to the people who say legalising weed would cause crime?
Noah: Less people would be selling weed
Terrel: How would the legalisation of weed affect you personally?
Noah: It would just be easier for me to buy it

Terrel: With weed recently being legalised in LA, do you think it should be legalised in the UK?
Kieran: I disagree
Terrel: What's your reasons for this?
Kieran: I blame it on the media
Terrel: What do you say to the people who say legalising weed would cause crime?
Kieran: I can see it being quite likely
Terrel: How would the legalisation of weed affect you personally?
Kieran: It stains to your clothing, depending on what your wearing

Evaluation
These interviews were recorded on my iPhone 8, the quality of the recording is good due to the camera's 1080p quality. However with the audio there were a few problems due to the phone and the background in it self, this is also because they recorded in different location within my college so it had an effect on the background sound.
Interview 1 (JJ's interview): In this interview, it was set in the location of this was set in an empty classroom. The quality of this video was good due to the camera of the iPhone 8 (with it being 1080p), however the audio had come out a bit of at the start of the video. However, during the video the audio sounded a bit eery but it was still clear enough to hear out.
Interview 2 (Noah's interview): In this interview, it was set on the stairs of the back entrance of the college. The quality (yet again) was good due to the camera of the iPhone 8 (with it being 1080p), however the audio was echoey and some of it wasn't clear enough to hear out. However, during the video we were still able to make sense of what Noah is saying.
Interview 3 (Kieran's interview): In this interview, it was set in my media classroom and it was (in my opinion) the best when it came to the audio. The quality (yet again) of this video was good because of the iPhone 8 (with it being 1080p). The audio had the best quality out of all of the interviews; however, it was a bit muffled at the start of it but was clear towards the end of it.
