Background Music Analysis

Music Evaluation:

In this scene, it shows Jules and Vincent drive with Marcus in the backseat. This scene didn't have any background sound within but it has just the sound of the car moving in the background. I decided to use 'Dr. Dre - Let Me Ride'. I used this music in the background because the film in set in California and the movie was made in the 90s. In this scene the music is shown to be non-diegetic due to it being added in the background of the scene; also when the Marcus gets shot in the face the music cut and then plays again when they start speaking again. This is good due it having an effect of the shooting, but as soon as they started speaking the music came back on.

I took an interview from MTV that had recorded Tupac Shakur and Snoop Dogg, from 1996; they were talking about their recent album releases and were talking about their rivalry with Bad Boy Entertainment. This interview was made only a few months before Tupac Shakur had died and I decided to add one of his biggest hit singles, 'I Get Around'. I play it in the background of the video, which makes it sound like a parting message to the 'late' rapper.
